Kamal Fodil

Candidate for Thorold City Council

30+ years in education and leadership.
20 years at home in Thorold.

Kamal Fodil has called Niagara home for more than three decades and Thorold home for the past 20 years, where he built his life and raised his family. He is fully bilingual in English and French.

With more than 30 years in education and leadership, Kamal has served as an elementary and secondary school teacher, university lecturer, principal, associate superintendent and vice-president of student affairs across both the public and private sectors. He began his professional career working with children and families, an experience that helped establish the people-focused approach he carried throughout his career.

Throughout his career, Kamal has been responsible for listening to people, working across different perspectives, managing resources, solving complex problems and making decisions that affect families, staff and communities. These experiences have given him a practical understanding of what strong public leadership requires: asking the right questions, balancing different needs, making responsible decisions and remaining accountable to the people those decisions affect.

After 20 years in Thorold, Kamal is running for City Council because he wants to put his experience to work in the community he calls home. His goal is to bring thoughtful, responsible leadership to City Hall, listen closely to residents and help shape decisions that strengthen Thorold today while planning carefully for its future.
